Research Articles

1. FOCUS AND SCOPE

This section accepts original and unpublished manuscripts presenting final results of scientific and technological research processes. Submissions must provide significant knowledge in the fields of Engineering, Basic Sciences, and Applied Sciences. Priority is given to studies that demonstrate methodological rigor, critical data analysis, and a clear contribution to the international state of the art.

This category includes documents that present in detail the original results of completed research projects.

All manuscripts must be submitted in English and must include the title and abstract in both English and Spanish.

2. PEER REVIEW PROCESS

External double-blind peer review following this workflow:

i. Desk review: Screening for relevance and alignment with the journal's scope; verification of similarity index and AI usage according to the authors' declaration. (Similarity index must not exceed 20%)

ii. Peer review: At least two evaluations by expert peer reviewers in the field with no institutional affiliation with the authors.

iii. Copyediting / Style review: TECCIENCIA Journal editors suggest modifications and corrections to improve clarity and assertiveness in the use of the English language prior to publication.

iv. Final decision: The editorial committee issues a decision based on the peer reviewers' criteria.

3. AUTHOR REQUIREMENTS

Affiliation: Institutional affiliation must be clearly specified.

ORCID: Mandatory for all authors [Create ORCID].

CRediT Taxonomy: Specifying author roles and responsibilities in the conducted research is recommended.

4. ETHICS AND ORIGINALITY

TECCIENCIA Journal adheres to COPE guidelines. Plagiarism or scientific misconduct will result in immediate rejection.

5. LICENSING AND OPEN ACCESS

6. USE OF OFFICIAL TEMPLATE

Although using the official template is not an exclusion criterion, the use of the following template in Word is suggested. If not used, all sections described therein must be retained for final manuscript acceptance.

Review Articles

1. FOCUS AND SCOPE

The Review Articles section is dedicated to the publication of high-quality, comprehensive manuscripts that collect, organize, synthesize, and critically analyze existing scientific literature on a frontier topic within the scope of the journal. A review article does not report primary data or original experiments; its value lies in the advanced curation of literature, identification of technical development patterns, contrast of divergent methodologies, and detection of knowledge gaps in engineering and applied sciences.

2. EDITORIAL AND BIBLIOMETRIC METRICS

To ensure international rigor and meet indexing audit standards, submissions to this section must strictly comply with the following metrics:

Source Quality: At least 80% of cited references must originate from articles published in peer-reviewed indexed scientific journals. The use of dissertations, manuals, or commercial websites should be kept to a minimum.

Currency: A minimum of 75% of total cited references must be from the last five (5) years.

Digital Identifiers: Providing a complete, active DOI link (in URL format) is mandatory for every reference that possesses one.

3. STRUCTURAL REQUIREMENTS

Authors must use the official journal template in editable format (Word) designed for review articles or, failing that, follow the instructions outlined within it.

4. PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Review articles undergo a rigorous evaluation process identical to that of empirical research articles. After passing an initial editorial desk review for scope compliance, bibliometrics, and plagiarism prevention, the document is sent for double-blind peer review by at least two external experts in the field. Reviewers will evaluate with particular emphasis the comprehensiveness of the literature search, the critical rigor of the analysis, adherence to reference currency percentages, and the value of proposed future trends.

All manuscripts submitted to the Review Articles section will undergo the same rigorous evaluation process as original research articles.

Reflection Articles

1. FOCUS AND SCOPE

The Reflection Articles section is dedicated to the publication of manuscripts with high intellectual maturity that present an original, critical, and deeply argumentative perspective on a specific conceptual, scientific, or technological phenomenon within the scope of the journal.

Unlike empirical research articles, a reflection article does not aim to present original laboratory experimentation or primary data. Instead, it must focus on a solid, well-defined argumentative thesis that questions, deconstructs, or re-evaluates current paradigms, technological contradictions, or emerging trends in engineering and applied sciences. The manuscript must balance independent critical thinking with a top-tier academic bibliographical foundation.

2. EDITORIAL AND BIBLIOMETRIC METRICS

To ensure the academic rigor required by international databases and Publindex, submissions to this section must strictly comply with the following criteria:

Originality: The critical thesis and analytical framework proposed by the authors must be completely original and not previously published in any other journal or conference proceedings. All submissions undergo strict plagiarism control.

Bibliographic Volume: Manuscripts must feature a highly selective, comprehensive, and updated reference list containing a minimum of 25 to 35 references.

Source Quality: At least 75% of cited references must originate from peer-reviewed indexed journals (Scopus, Web of Science, or top-tier regional indexes). General textbooks, encyclopedias, and non-scientific web links must be kept to an absolute minimum.

Currency: A minimum of 75% of total references must have been published within the last five (5) years.

Digital Identifiers: Providing a complete, active DOI link (in URL format) is mandatory for every reference that possesses one.

3. STRUCTURAL REQUIREMENTS

Authors must use the official journal template in editable format (Word) designed for reflection articles or, failing that, follow the instructions outlined within it.

4. PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Reflection articles undergo a rigorous evaluation process identical to that of review articles. After passing an initial editorial desk review for scope compliance, metrics, and plagiarism control, the document is sent for double-blind peer review by at least two external experts in the field. Reviewers will evaluate with particular emphasis the comprehensiveness of the literature search, the critical rigor of the analysis, adherence to reference currency percentages, and the value of proposed future trends.

All manuscripts submitted to the Reflection Articles section will undergo the same rigorous evaluation process as original research articles.
